Our History

When Jack Fulk, Sr.’s first Bojangles® opened on West Boulevard in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1977, it marked a new milestone in this country’s fast food industry. He envisioned a fast food restaurant catering to the Cajun tastes of America. Mr. Fulk also envisioned a restaurant offering a variety of breakfast items and fresh homemade buttermilk biscuits.

Incorporated in 1979, Tri-Arc Food Systems, Inc. is a licensee of Bojangles® Restaurants, Inc. and one of the largest franchises in the Bojangles’ system. The first of Tri-Arc’s restaurants opened in Selma, NC in 1980 and since that time, the company has expanded to 51 locations throughout the Triangle and Southern Virginia.

Tri-Arc Food Systems is committed to giving its customers great food – Cajun spiced chicken; hot, fluffy, homemade buttermilk biscuits and flavorful fixins’, as well as the best iced tea around!
